CASA Volunteer Coordinator
Accountable to: Executive Director
Hours & Pay: 30 hours a week to start; pay range $13-$15/hr; Vacation benefits offered after probationary period
Purpose: To serve the program by coordinating and administering an effective and comprehensive volunteer program, and to assist in program development and fundraising.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Survey the program for current and on-going volunteer needs, establish goals and objectives by prioritizing program needs with availability of volunteers
- Supervise and assist in maintaining COMET, ensuring it is a comprehensive volunteer database
- Plan and coordinate use of volunteers with staff members
- Recruit, screen, train, motivate and assign volunteers
- Coordinate annual recognition program for volunteers
- Work with appropriate committees, officers, and the Executive Director to carry out the mission of the program
- Attend regular staff and committee meetings
- Attend Board meetings when needed as a resource and for information purposes
- Represent the program by serving on committees and attending community meetings
- Schedule and attend public speaking engagements for volunteer recruitment and program development
- Manage Volunteer Newsletter
Support Executive Director:
- Respond to information requests from the Executive Director
- Maintain and keep current statistical reporting information regarding all volunteer activities
- Ensure continued compliance of State laws and rules regarding volunteer activities
- Ensure continued compliance of State and National CASA Standards regarding volunteer activities
- Work with appropriate Board of Director Committees to carry out volunteer and fundraising goals
- Assist in budgeting for fiscal requirements of volunteer and fundraising activities
- Provide materials and information needed for writing grants and proposals
- Assist with annual fundraising event
Support of CASA Volunteer Managers:
- Assist in maintaining volunteer database and provide staff reminders for criminal background investigations, annual evaluations, and all required pre- and in- service training
- Maintain collection of volunteer reporting forms for staff
- Train and assist staff on Volunteer Retention
- Assist with volunteer conflict management

Administrative Requirements:
- Maintain regular office hours
- Work effectively with staff and board; communicate freely and openly with other staff to support program activities
- Communicate clearly, provide constructive feedback to others, receive constructive feedback from others, and address conflict in a respectful and constructive manner
- Prepare and deliver written reports on work activities to the Executive Director and Board of Directors when necessary
- Participate in monthly all-staff meetings and consensus decision making to help provide leadership and accountability for establishing program goals
- Support and assist other staff’s work to ensure success of the staff collective
